Kyungwoo Chun / text
Kyungwoo Chuns peaceful portraits are not only fascinating representations of individuals, but also refer to universal experiences: they speak of presence, absence and the transitive state of being. Demonstrating the evanescence of the portrayed while at the same time eternalising them, Chun’s works ask questions about the presentational possibilites of the media of video and photography and provoke an interplay between reproduction and imagination, between what is shown and what has disappeared.
