GALLERY / intro
DNA, founded in 2001, is dedicated to promoting contemporary art. It focuses primarily on Berlin based international artists.
The program accommodates a wide range of artistic media (painting, sculpture, video, installation and drawing), presented via innovative, interactive, interdisciplinary and multimedia projects. DNA has an international character, collaborating regularly with numerous galleries and institutions outside Germany.
The DNA’s objective is to provide a stage for contemporary art and stimulate the debate that surrounds it. It aims to present and foster new horizons in art, which in turn require experimental forms of exhibiting, conveying and communicating.
Prior to running a commercial gallery, the managing director Johann Nowak has been working as an independent curator, realizing numerous international projects, such as The Festival of Vision, Berlin – Hongkong in collaboration with Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin (2000).
